We welcome your participation in Project China 2010!
Project China was established in 2003 as a joint student project between Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). The main objective of the project is to create opportunities where students and corporations may interact in China and Sweden, as well as to further encourage and stimulate the interest for the two countries. This is the 8th consecutive year of the project, which has grown to become the largest student project with international focus in Sweden. When participating in Project China, partner companies are offered a platform for interaction with ambitious Swedish students at SSE and KTH, as well as top-performing Chinese students at Tsinghua and Fudan Universities. The project is a great opportunity to strengthen the company brand among those students. Companies will get to meet Chinese students through seminars, events and career fairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing and Fudan University in Shanghai. Together we will both reach thousands of students at the most renowned universities in Sweden and China while also enable specific recruitment opportunities.
Seminars to promote interest in China among Swedish students
During the spring, Project China will host seminars with China in focus at both SSE and KTH with the aim to encourage interest in China, and Swedish companies working in China, among Swedish students. These are usually popular events with an immense chance for our partner companies to expose their brands.
Sweden Day in Beijing and Shanghai
Sweden Day is a career fair that will be arranged in the beginning of June at Tsinghua University in Beijing, followed by another one at Fudan University in Shanghai. During Sweden Day, Chinese students will be able to learn more about Swedish culture in the form of traditional food, music and dance. It is also an opportunity for Chinese students to interact with Swedish companies and a unique chance for our partner companies to meet, recruit and promote their brand among Chinese students. The days will end with a banquet where participating companies and selected students are invited.
The Report Book
With its vast cultural heritage and ancient history, combined with the raging pace of economic and technical development, China has become one of the most interesting and complex countries today. Having spectacularly arranged the summer Olympic Games 2008 and being the host of World Expo 2010, China has the world’s attention more than ever.
A large part of Project China consists of research work on the Chinese culture and similarities and differences that Chinese and Swedish companies face. The research will be presented in a project report published during the autumn of 2010. The report will be published in the form of a sophisticated and stylish book that addresses all readers of interest and is handed out to top Swedish and Chinese students for free. This is a book where you want your name to be seen!
The theme for the Swedish participation in the World Expo 2010 is “Sweden – Spirit of Innovation” with the words Innovation, Sustainability and Communication as its cornerstones. Based on this, the theme of Project China 2010 is set to “Innovation, Sustainability and Communication”.
China Week
China Week will be arranged in the beginning of the autumn at both SSE and KTH. The week will commence with the release of the report book and film, followed by a series of China-themed events. The highlight of the week will be China Day, a much appreciated career fair where Swedish students have the opportunity to interact with companies with business in China. China week will be concluded with a banquet where participating companies and students are invited.
