China is the country on everybody’s lips. Being one of the oldest civilizations on the planet, with more than a thousand years of rich history, China is riding a fresh wind of change. Today, China boasts the fastest growing economy on the planet, and along with an increasing amount aware and knowledgeable consumers China will become the new land of opportunities. Add that to the fact that China will be hosting the Summer Olympics 2008 and you will start to realize that China is without a doubt the main focal point this up and coming year.
Project China is a non-profit student-cooperation between students at The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Stockholm’s School of Economics (HHS). Since the project’s birth in 2003 it has grown to become the largest international student-project in the entire Sweden. The 2008 Project China will follow the footsteps of the winning concept that has during it’s 6 years running both, built a recognizable name in both the minds of students and the eyes of society and established a extensive network of contacts and relationships stretching all the way past the Great Wall of China.
Throughout the Project’s existence it has successfully built and maintained bridges between the students and companies from both Sweden and China. During the year ahead of us we will see the 2008 Project China embark on a journey to exceed previous milestones and continue to stimulate and increase the international cooperation.
Some of our tools to achieve our goals will be:
Arranging Sweden Day, where Chinese students will be given the opportunity to get in contact with the genuine Swedish culture and have access to Swedish companies.
Arranging China Week, which is a Chinese-themed week that will play home to a wide array of events on the Campuses of KTH and HHS. The peak of this week will be China-Day, a day where a job-expo will take place to stimulate and increase awareness of Chinese options for Swedish students.
Continuous China related events throughout the year where interesting seminars and events will be held attract even more awareness amongst the Swedish students.
The theme for 2008’s years Project China will be “Meetings with the Young China”, where the new Chinese generations will be the spotlight. The coverage broadcasted with help of movies, blogs and series of articles, along with the traditional Project China Book. Also new for this year will be the increased focus on media exposure.
